Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti in San Diego seeks a Project Engineer to own complex design challenges and guide junior engineers in delivering innovative structural solutions. You will work across disciplines, contribute to project management, and begin stepping into more client-facing opportunities to grow into future project leadership.

Qualifications

4+ years of structural engineering experience.
PE and/or SE licensure preferred.
Experience designing steel, concrete, and timber systems.
Proficient with SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, StructurePoint and Revit.

Responsibilities

Lead and refine structural analysis, design, and detailing tasks with engineering judgment.
Review junior staff’s work and tailor outputs to project scope and contractor needs.
Coordinate with architects and engineers, taking responsibility for technical decisions.
Mentor junior team members through delegation and feedback.
Assist with project management, proposals, and client-facing opportunities.
