Job summary

Thornton Tomasetti in Seattle seeks a Senior Project Engineer to advance complex structural design, lead technical work, and grow into a leadership role within a global engineering team.

You will independently apply advanced concepts, develop client-ready deliverables, and coordinate with architects, contractors, and internal experts. The role emphasizes mentorship, sustainability, resilience, and innovative problem solving in challenging projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• PE and/or SE licensure.
• 6+ years of structural engineering experience, ideally in consulting.
• Strong background in analytical modeling, detailing, and advanced engineering concepts.
• Ability to independently develop engineering approaches and grow into a technical leader.

Responsibilities

• Independently evaluate and apply advanced engineering concepts to challenging structural problems.
• Develop deliverables that communicate clearly with clients.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, consultants, and internal experts.
• Contribute to proposals and represent TT’s technical excellence with clients.
• Engage in internal collaboration on sustainability, resilience, forensics, renewal, and more.
• Build leadership by linking decisions to outcomes, innovation, and client value.
• Mentor earlier-career engineers and elevate the team.
