Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineering Professional in Hillsboro, OR, to perform analysis and design of traditional steel and concrete structures. You will work under supervision while ensuring code compliance and high quality deliverables.

You will lead small teams, mentor designers and engineers, and drive improvements in workflows and tools, with a focus on safety and client satisfaction across critical projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.
• At least 4 years of Structural Engineering experience.
• Experience with US building codes, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.
• Experience with Structural Engineering analysis software, Navisworks and Bluebeam.
• Experience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform conventional aspects of Structural Engineering analysis and design under general supervision.
• Plan and conduct work requiring sound judgement and engineering reasoning.
• Ensure accuracy through rigorous checking and peer reviews.
• Manage workload and meet schedule, budget, and quality targets.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Develop and advance workflows within the structural discipline.
