Job summary

Hargrove in Concord, CA, is seeking a Structural Engineer to perform complete designs for civil/structural projects under general supervision. Responsibilities include developing layouts, calculations, and drawings, coordinating with drafting, and ensuring code compliance.

Ideal candidate has 3+ years' experience, BS or MS in Civil Engineering, PE preferred, and strong skills in IBC, CAD (AutoCAD/MicroStation), and MS Office, with leadership and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Structural coursework is required for structural engineering positions.
• Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural engineering.
• Knowledge and application of the International Building Code and associated standards.
• Experience with civil/structural analysis software and interpreting results.
• Able to lead small to medium teams and coordinate with drafting and other disciplines.
• Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation) and MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete designs for civil/structural assignments under supervision.
• Develop conceptual layouts, cost studies, and preliminary designs.
• Produce detailed design calculations and construction drawings.
• Review vendor drawings and submittals for compliance.
• Provide field data gathering and construction support.
• Lead small to medium teams to maintain scope, schedule, and budget.
• Assist drafting with resolving layout and detailing issues.
