Job summary

Structural Steel Fabricator is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead QA/QC activities across fabrication, welding, and inspections. You will verify welds, measurements, coatings, and final product readiness for shipment, coordinating audits and certifications while mentoring inspectors and driving quality improvements.

You will work with production, engineering, and project teams to prevent defects, read shop drawings, and ensure compliance with customer specs and industry standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of QA/QC or inspection experience in structural steel or heavy manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of welding inspection and dimensional inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance.
• Perform welding, dimensional, coating, and final product inspections.
• Serve as the final authority for product acceptance and shipping release.
• Verify material traceability, certifications, and quality documentation.
• Coordinate NDT activities (UT, MT, VT) and verify corrective actions.
• Lead customer, DOT, railroad, and third-party inspections.
• Manage NCRs, corrective actions, and quality documentation.
• Mentor QC Inspectors and promote consistent inspection practices.
