Job summary

Waukegan Steel seeks an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead the company-wide quality program and drive continuous improvement. The role reports to the President and ensures compliance with AISC certifications, welding quality, and customer requirements across operations.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in a Quality Management role for an AISC-certified fabricator.
Strong knowledge of AISC BU, IBR, FCE, SPE-P2 and audit processes.
Experience with AWS D1.1 and AWS D1.5 code requirements.
Current CWI or CAWI certification preferred.
Bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead and continuously improve the company's quality control program.
Maintain compliance with AISC certifications and welding standards.
Manage internal and external audits and ensure certification adherence.
Develop, implement, and maintain QC procedures and documentation.
Perform welder qualifications and maintain welding records.
Investigate quality issues and drive corrective actions.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and project teams to meet quality targets.
