Job summary

CT&C Fabrication is seeking a quality control inspector to perform inspections of fabricated structural steel, including welds, dimensions, and paint thickness. You will use detailed drawings to inspect, record daily results, and help resolve issues with the Senior Inspector and Shop Quality Manager.

Qualified candidates will have 3–5 years in structural steel, blueprint literacy, and QA experience; UT Level 1 training and knowledge of QC procedures are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in the structural steel industry
• 3-5 years experience working from blueprints
• Prior experience in Quality Control is desired
• Level 1 training in UT
• Knowledge of CT&C Fabrications QM and QC procedures
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards
• Skill in completing required documentation
• Skill in organizing drawings and information
• Ability to learn new procedures
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings drawn in, but not limited to AUTOCAD

Responsibilities

• Inspect fabricated structural steel and perform periodic and continuous welding inspections
• Record daily inspections on QC Travelers
• Perform paint thickness inspections
• Resolve daily issues with Senior Inspector and Shop Quality Manager
• Maintain flow of work through the shop
• Inspect simple and complex parts using applicable drawings
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure conformance
