Job summary

SOLV Energy, a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, seeks an EPC Project Manager for utility-scale solar projects. Based on a Newbern, AL jobsite, you will manage planning, budgeting, scheduling, risk, and reporting while leading a diverse team in a remote environment.

You will oversee safety plans, change orders, procurement, and subcontracting, ensuring timely buyout, delivery, and cost control. Travel ~50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Field construction management experience (5-8 years, including supervisory skills).
• Leadership ability – able to pull together team members from diverse backgrounds in a remote environment.
• Strong computer skills with MS Office suite, as well as other industry-standard tools, such as Bluebeam Revu. CMiC experience a plus.
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
• Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement and estimating).
• Willing to travel extensively (minimum 50%).
• Ability to build trust and rapport with all SOLV departments for benefit of projects.
• Organizational and communication skills; must have strong people skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and take responsibility for significant scopes of self-performed work with large labor crews.
• Develop safety plans and implement safety procedures.
• Oversee preparation of project billings and maximize cash flow; reduce pay cycles.
• Present and negotiate change orders with owner.
• Negotiate cost-effective subcontract and material purchases.
• Set up and implement job procedures to assure timely buyout and material delivery.
• Keep project on schedule and manage reporting on cost forecasting.
• Manage, train, and supervise project team; mentor younger employees.
• Review contract conditions and ensure compliance with terms.
• Document significant project events and manage preconstruction activities.
• Negotiate and issue subcontract bid packages.
• Mitigate project risks with mitigation plans.
• Maintain Site-Specific Quality Management Plan (SSQMP).
• Coordinate with Owner, Architect and Subcontractors; foster strong partnerships.
• Coordinate with material suppliers for timely deliveries.
• Organize regular meetings with Owner and key project partners.
