Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Lead Engineer for the CoCounsel Applications team in Minnesota. You will own full‑stack development in React, TypeScript, and Python, lead by example, and collaborate with product, design, and platform partners to deliver customer-focused features.

You will mentor engineers, set technical standards, and contribute to AI-powered capabilities including LLM workflows, agentic systems, and MCP/A2A tooling, while driving delivery in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production web applications, with hands-on coding in the last 2–3 years.
• Frontend experience with React, TypeScript, and frontend architecture.
• Backend experience with Python and familiarity with GenAI concepts including prompt engineering, agentic system design, LLM orchestration, MCP/A2A familiarity.
• Technical leadership with influence to improve systems, reduce debt, and guide architecture.
• Strong collaboration and communication in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end full-stack features across frontend and backend systems.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and guidance.
• Set technical standards for quality, performance, accessibility, and testing.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to shape APIs and user experiences.
• Drive execution with reliable estimates and production delivery.
