Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Lead Engineer to join the CoCounsel Applications team. You will own and deliver full-stack solutions across frontend (React, TypeScript) and backend (Python) stacks, driving AI-powered features and MCP/A2A tooling.

You will lead by example, set technical standards, and collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to shape APIs and user experiences while mentoring other engineers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production web applications
• Frontend experience with modern frameworks (React) and TypeScript
• Backend experience with Python and AI concepts (prompt engineering, LLM orchestration)
• Leadership ability to lead through influence and drive architectural decisions

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end full-stack features across frontend and backend systems using React, TypeScript, and Python
• Set technical standards for code quality, performance, testing, and accessibility
• Collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to define APIs and user experiences
• Mentor engineers through pairing and code reviews
