Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Lead Engineer for the CoCounsel Application Experience team in New York. You will own and deliver full‑stack solutions across frontend and backend, contribute hands-on in React, TypeScript, and Python, and mentor other engineers while partnering with product and design.

You will set technical standards, drive architecture decisions, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver customer‑facing features with AI-powered capabilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering with hands-on coding in the last 2–3 years.
• Strong experience with modern frontend frameworks (React) and frontend architecture.
• Hands-on API/service development using Python; working knowledge of Node.js.
• Experience applying prompt engineering, agentic system design and MCP concepts.
• Proven ability to lead through influence, improve systems, and guide architecture.

Responsibilities

• Build End-to-End Solutions: design and implement full-stack features across frontend and backend.
• Set Technical Standards: uphold code quality, performance, accessibility, testing, maintainability.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: work with product, design, and engineering teams to define APIs and UX.
• Drive Execution: break down initiatives, provide estimates, deliver to production.
• Mentor Engineers: support growth through pairing, reviews, and guidance.
