Job summary

JPMorganChase in Columbus, OH is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Chief Technology Office - Intelligent Solutions Product Line. You will be a core technical contributor driving architecture, secure production systems, and AI-enabled solutions across multiple business functions.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical roadmaps, and advance enterprise‑grade automation, CI/CD, and secure coding practices while collaborating with product and engineering leadership.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• 8+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience delivering system design and production operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Java and/or Python with secure coding practices.
• Experience with enterprise AI assistant tools in engineering workflows with validation and controls.
• Experience enabling reusable engineering platforms at scale and automation.
• Experience implementing AI/ML‑enabled applications with integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and security.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred).
• Prior experience leading/mentoring engineers as a hands‑on practitioner.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver creative software solutions through architecture, development, and troubleshooting.
• Architect, build, and operate secure, high‑quality production systems using Java and AI tooling.
• Drive adoption of AI‑assisted engineering practices with validation standards and security checks.
• Partner with leadership to shape technical vision and execute roadmaps across ISPL capabilities.
• Implement and improve automation-first practices including CI/CD, environment management, and release controls.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into software systems with secure handling of data/outputs.
• Design experiments, implement algorithms, and produce scalable AI/ML components and services.
• Identify recurring production issues and drive automation to improve reliability and reduce toil.
• Mentor and coach engineers and AI practitioners across a global organization.
