Job Summary
Performs or assists with installation, programming, and checkout of security, access control, CCTV, audio, mass notification, and related systems. Supports system testing, troubleshooting, and repair operations.
Salary
USD $30.00 – $38.00 per year.
Responsibilities
- Program and install security systems (card access, CCTV, CATV, intrusion) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings.
- Provide leadership on small projects and act as the company liaison for interface with customer representatives.
- Maintain project documentation, create red‑lined field drawings, and adhere to construction phases.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Participate in all company, customer, and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
- Use basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers, hammer, cable stripper, insulated crimping tool, flashlight, multimeter, butt‑set, toner/wand, and coax or hex crimp tool.
Tools
- Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver (all sizes, Phillips), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (adjustable, needle‑nose, lineman), hammer, cable stripper, insulated crimping tool, flashlight, and gloves.
- Measurement & Testing Tools: multimeter, butt‑set, toner/wand, coax compression and/or hex crimp tool.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Must be self‑motivated, positive, and present a professional image.
- Must possess critical thinking skills and ability to read, write, and give oral presentations.
- Must read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other service documents.
- Must travel within the branch or regional territory as needed.
- Must work at heights, off of ladders, and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs.
- Must see and distinguish different colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
- Must meet company minimum driving standards.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- 3–5 years of experience in security installation.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn industry codes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Preference for candidates with Honeywell Prowatch certification.
