Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Crew Lead - Security Systems to oversee on-site installation activities including card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion systems. The role leads Technicians, ensures safety and quality, and coordinates with the SS Project Manager to keep projects on schedule.

Candidates should have at least five years of security systems experience, supervisory exposure, and proficiency with MS Project and Microsoft Office. Travel within territory may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as main on-site customer contact and attend meetings as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion systems.

Job Summary:

The Crew Lead - Security Systems will act as the on-site coordinator and crew lead supervisor for the program and installation of Security Systems (Card Access, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings. The Project Lead - Security Systems is responsible for ensuring job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Crew Lead - Security Systems consistently supervises several Technicians - Security Systems, assumes responsibility for effective performance, provides necessary training, ensures adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines, and holds weekly safety meetings. The Lead coordinates with the SS Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with the project budget. The Lead fully completes all IES COMMUNICATIONS, LLC. and project paperwork accurately and on time (specifically timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required). The Lead serves as the main on-site customer contact for questions and/or concerns and attends facility and construction meetings when required. The Lead performs work consistently demonstrating a detailed level of technical knowledge of card access, CCTV, CATV, and intrusion systems; troubleshoots and resolves technical issues as they arise. The Lead will complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

The Crew Lead - Security Systems must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional, and help create, develop and implement project process improvements. The Lead must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients, and business partners. The Lead must act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s). The Lead must possess proven problem‑solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentations. The Lead must be able to stand and walk on very large job sites regularly, work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds, and see, distinguish different colors, read small print, and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones. The Lead must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed. Regular attendance is mandatory.

Minimum compensation: USD $30.00 per year. Maximum compensation: USD $35.00 per year.

Qualifications:
  • Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
  • Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of experience in security systems installation.
  • Must possess a minimum of six (6) months of supervisory and/or managerial experience.
  • Must possess and be able to effectively use the tools listed above.
  • Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
  • Must know universal communications color codes.
  • Must be proficient with the listed tools.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
Career Path:

Superintendent or General Superintendent – Security Systems. Minimum Years of Experience: 4‑6. License Required. No Minimum Education. High School mandatory.
