Overview
Crew Lead - Security Systems: on-site leader responsible for supervising technicians and coordinating the installation, programming, testing, and commissioning of Card Access, CCTV, CATV, and Intrusion Detection Systems. Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to engineered drawings, manufacturer specifications, company standards, and customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise Security Systems Technicians on assigned projects.
- Coordinate daily work activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Install, program, test, and troubleshoot: Access Control Systems; CCTV/Video Surveillance Systems; CATV Systems; Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Provide technical guidance, training, and mentoring to technicians.
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and enforce company and customer safety standards.
- Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Coordinate project activities with the Security Systems Project Manager.
- Complete and maintain all required project documentation (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers, and other project paperwork).
- Serve as the primary on-site customer contact for project-related questions and concerns.
- Attend construction, facility, and project coordination meetings as required.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Support successful project execution through leadership, planning, and clear communication.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience installing and programming security systems.
- Working knowledge of: Access Control Systems; CCTV and Video Management Systems; Intrusion Detection Systems; CATV Systems; Low-Voltage Infrastructure.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineered drawings.
- Proven leadership experience supervising technicians and field personnel.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication with customers, project managers, and team members.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Salary: Min USD $32.00/Hr. Max USD $35.00/Hr.
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Regular attendance is mandatory.
- Ability to read, write, and present effectively; strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel within the branch or regional territory as needed.
- Ability to work at heights, on ladders, in confined spaces; lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds; stand and walk on large job sites.
- Vision and hearing abilities adequate to perform essential job functions.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
- Preferred minimum of five (5) years' supervisory or managerial experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Lead Communications Technician or similar position.
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in telecommunications or related technical/construction field.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
- Must meet company minimum driving standards.
- Ability to define a project, create a project scope of work, develop estimates, and manage tasks to completion and customer turnover.
- Ability to use trade tools: punch tools, 66/110 blocks, crimp tools, punch tools, testers, and related equipment.
