IES Communications in the United States is seeking a Technician II - Security Systems to program and install security systems (card access, CCTV, CATV and intrusion) per manufacturer specs and engineered drawings. You will lead small installer crews and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires hands-on installation, coordinating daily workloads, and completing project paperwork accurately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial security systems or related telecommunications field.
• Must know or be able to learn company/industry codes.
• Proficient with listed tools.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to read blueprints and project documents including specifications and quality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Program and install security systems per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings.
• Lead crew and coordinate personnel to complete projects on schedule.
• Accurately complete all IES COMMERCIAL paperwork (timesheets, transfers, work orders, etc.).
• Adhere to company, customer and industry safety and quality standards.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Job Summary

The Technician II - Security Systems must possess the ability to program and install security systems (Card Access, CCTV, CATV and Intrusion systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings. The Technician II will coordinate small groups of installers in the performance of daily workload including adherence to Company safety and quality standards.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Program and install security systems (card access, CCTV, CATV and intrusion systems) per manufacturer requirements and engineered drawings.
• Assume responsibility for effective performance of crew and provide necessary training, coordinate personnel and timeline to complete projects.
• Assist in the completion of all IES COMMERCIAL paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
• Adhere to and participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

Salary: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour.

• Must act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
• Must possess proven problem‑solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentations.
• Must be able to work at heights, off of a ladder and in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
• Must be able to travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• Must possess the ability to program and install card access, CCTV, CATV and intrusion systems.
• Must possess the ability to supervise others.
• Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications, reporting and quality requirements.

Tools

• Basic hand tools: screwdriver (all sizes), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (adjustable, needle nose, lineman), hammer, cable stripper, insulated crimping tool, flashlight, and gloves; multimeter, butt-set, toner/wand, coax compression and/or hex crimp tool.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements

• Must possess at least a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
• Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial security systems or related telecommunications field and demonstrate the ability to supervise others.
• Must know or possess the knowledge to learn Company/industry codes.
• Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
• Must know the universal communications color codes.
• Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
