Connectly Recruiting is recruiting for a Production Supervisor position in Grand Rapids, MI, leading second-shift paint operations in a unionized automotive manufacturing facility. You will oversee one Team Leader and about 25 employees across loading, unloading, line support, and quality auditing.

You will drive safety, quality, delivery, and productivity, coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Production, and guide continuous improvement initiatives on the paint line and

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree/technical qualification beneficial.
• Experience in a unionized, high-volume manufacturing setting preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching and problem-solving skills.
• Exposure to automated lines, robotics, PLC-controlled equipment desirable.

Mansioni

• Provide hands-on leadership for second-shift paint operations and ensure safe, efficient execution of the production schedule.
• Lead one Team Leader and ~25 production employees across loading, unloading, line support, inventory control, material handling and quality auditing.
• Allocate labor and resources to meet daily production needs and maintain shift continuity.
• Monitor paint-line performance, quality, scrap, downtime and material usage; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with PPE, chemical handling and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance and Production to resolve defects and ensuring consistent coating quality.
• Troubleshoot automated paint line, robotics, conveyors, sensors and controls; escalate issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper staging and tracking of paint, components and packaging; support uninterrupted operations.
• Conduct shift start-up meetings and ensure smooth handover to next shift and plant leadership.
• Train and develop employees, enforce standardized work, and manage performance in a unionized setting.
• Complete shift reports and drive continuous improvement via Lean, 5S, root-cause analysis and operational enhancements.
