Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, welcoming store and assist customers in finding merchandise. You will operate the cash register, assist with stocking, and help ensure planograms are followed.

In this lead role, you will step in for the Store Manager during absences while performing regular sales associate duties to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction. Strong communication and reliability are key.

Qualifications

• Requires effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising guides.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Ability to operate a cash register.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit procedures.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank for deposits.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and assist customers.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, collect payment and make change.
• Stock merchandise and rotate on shelves; build displays.
• Keep store clean, take out trash, mop floors, and restock as needed.
• Assist in planogram implementation and maintenance.
• Open and close the store under direction of Store Manager.
• Perform duties of Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
