Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help run a clean, customer-focused store. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, stock merchandise, and support store leadership in daily tasks to maximize profitability and protect assets.

You may lead by example in the absence of the Store Manager, and perform essential duties to maintain efficient store operations, training peers, and ensuring safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Six months of supervisory experience or related training preferred.
• Experience with cash handling and point-of-sale systems beneficial.
• Ability to read planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner, total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves, and build displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, mop floors, and maintain restrooms and stockroom.
• Open and close the store under direction of Store Manager, and assist in leadership duties when needed.
