Job summary
Consor is seeking a Roadway Engineering Designer in Houston to lead the development and delivery of complex transportation projects, applying engineering judgment to create safe, sustainable designs.
You will coordinate with project engineers and multidisciplinary teams, perform advanced analyses, mentor junior designers, and contribute to QA/QC while delivering constructible documents that meet client objectives and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in civil engineering.
- 2+ years of Texas transportation engineering design experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience with MicroStation & OpenRoads Designer.
Responsibilities
- Lead detailed roadway, multimodal, and intersection design plans, technical specifications, engineer’s estimates, and construction documents, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project objectives and standards.
- Perform advanced analyses and design calculations related to horizontal/vertical alignments, roadway geometrics, grading, cross sections, sight distance, and multimodal facilities.
- Coordinate and integrate design activities across multidisciplinary teams, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior designers and staff.
- Support project planning, resource coordination, schedule management, QA/QC reviews, and timely delivery of milestones and submittals.
- Utilize advanced CAD/transportation design software to develop and review complex design models and resolve technical challenges.
