Job summary

Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA is seeking an experienced registered nurse to join our Infusion department on the day shift. You will assess patients, administer therapies, coordinate care, and collaborate with a dedicated health care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

The ideal candidate has IA RN licensure, BLS and ACLS, at least two years of hospital experience, and the ability to lead and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• IA RN license is required and BLS/ACLS are mandatory.
• Minimum of 2 years hospital experience in infusion-related care.
• Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and mentor staff and work within a team.
• Experience with infusion-related treatments and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prescribes, delegates, and coordinates nursing care for acutely ill patients.
• Interact with patients and families while maintaining professional standards.
• Manage unit resources and assign tasks per shift.
• Coach and support team to achieve unit and hospital goals.
• Ensure care delivery by staff competent in age-appropriate needs and technology.

Position Highlights

Responsibilities

• A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates, and coordinates patient care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
• Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
• Assumes responsibility for the management of clinical and supportive activities and allocation of human resources of the unit on a designated shift.
• Coaches and supports the team in accomplishing the unit and hospital mission.
• Ensures that care is delivered by those who are competent/trained to do so according to the patient population, level of technology required, complexity of care needs, and the age of the patient.
• Demonstrates and role models professional practice, knowledge and skills.
• Participates in ongoing unit management responsibilities.
• Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care in the Infusion department.
• Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period.
• Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care.

Requirements

• IA RN license
• BLS and ACLS are required

Schedule

• 60 hours per pay period
• Hours and shifts may vary based on the needs of the department, however typical hours may range from 7a-5p; Mon-Fri
• On-call as needed
• Must be able to work into evening if needed
• Potential holidays and weekends as needed
• The schedule may fluctuate based upon the needs of the department
