Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) - Clinical Unit Leader for ICU/Stepdown at The Jewish Hospital. The Lead RN coordinates patient care with the Clinical Manager, guiding staff to deliver high-quality, efficient care across the unit.

You will oversee scheduling, safety, and collaboration with other departments, ensuring patient-centered outcomes and staff development in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred).
• Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required).
• BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain before patient care).
• Certifications required based on unit(s) overseen (PALS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC, ENPC, NBC Specialty, Nurse Executive, etc.).
• 2 years nursing experience with 1 year minimum clinical experience in the acuity level of desired area (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinates patient care on a designated unit with the Clinical Manager.
• Uses nursing process and clinical knowledge to manage resources and ensure excellence in care.
• Adjusts schedules and assignments based on acuity and patient population needs.
• Maintains infection control standards and safety practices.
• Communicates with patients and families about care plans and interventions.
• Mentors staff and serves as a clinical resource and role model.
