Job summary

Qualifications

• Two (2)+ years' nursing supervisory experience.
• Some LTC nursing experience preferred.
• Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by the state.
• AED certified, must maintain certification.
• Current and unrestricted RN license, must maintain license.
• Experience in correctional healthcare preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Orientations, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions for Nursing/EMS staff.
• Monitor implementation of facility procedures and programs.
• Assess health problems of new inmates and initiate medical records/por.
• Coordinate with subcontracted services (pharmacy, lab, x-ray, specialists).
• Oversee services by contractors and staff; respond to medical emergencies.
• Administer prescribed treatments and medications as medically required.
• Prepare equipment/records/rooms for examinations; assist providers when needed.
• Maintain IV therapies and pharmacology practices; use medical equipment safely.
• Meet with Health Services Admin to review services; deputize as needed.
