Job summary

CorrHealth in a correctional facility is seeking a Registered Nurse Charge Nurse to supervise facility nursing staff, coordinate on-site health services, and ensure clear communication with detention administration.

The role includes assessing inmates, planning and implementing care, managing emergencies, and maintaining HIPAA-compliant records and equipment. An active RN license with AED/CPR/BLS is required, with 2+ years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Two (2)+ years' nursing supervisory experience
• Active RN license in good standing
• AED/CPR/BLS certified
• Experience in correctional healthcare preferred
• Ability to communicate with inmates and staff

Responsibilities

• Orientations, training, evaluations, and support of facility nursing staff
• Monitor detention facility procedures and programs
• Assess health problems of inmates and initiate records
• Coordinate with pharmacy, labs, x-ray, and specialists
• Respond to day-to-day medical issues and emergencies
• Administer treatments and medications as prescribed
• Prepare medical records and assist providers
• Maintain IV therapies and equipment
• Delegate tasks and educate patients on prevention
• On-call and possibly act as supervisor in absence
