Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead RF payload electrical design for a space-based communications system. You will own architecture, trades, and interface management across RF, ASIC, mechanical, and thermal teams, ensuring designs survive space and operate reliably for years.

You will drive manufacturability and testability, mentor engineers, and contribute to qualifications and environmental campaigns.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience with high-density PCB design and RF payload interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience in schematic capture and layout of high-speed, mixed-signal boards.
  • Experience designing power delivery networks for high-current, dynamically loaded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-layer, high-density interconnect PCB design for RF payload hardware, maintaining isolation between high-speed digital, IF, and microwave routing on shared stackups.
  • Design power delivery networks supporting high aggregate current and the dynamic load behavior that beamforming produces.
  • Own architecture and component selection trades across processing, power, and front-end hardware with radiation tolerance, availability, lead time, and cost as criteria.
  • Lead signal integrity, power integrity, crosstalk, and EMI simulation and analysis at board and system level.
  • Design and route high-speed interconnect and reference clock distribution between modem, processing, and beamforming devices.
