Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Technical Leader in RF communications to define and own the technical baseline for high‑reliability space hardware. You will lead the full subsystem lifecycle for lunar missions, drive analyses and simulations, and mentor engineers in a dynamic, safety‑focused environment.

The role requires extensive RF design experience, strong collaboration with vehicle teams, and a track record of leading complex verification, validation, and supplier coordination in aerospace

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
• 8+ years relevant experience in the full life cycle development of RF communications hardware including requirements, design, integration, test, and operations.
• Proven technical expertise in RF Communications, including IC design, line‑up definition, verification and validation, and system safety.
• Experience with software tools such as AWR, HFSS, and Altium.
• Familiarity with DVB‑S2, CCSDS, RS‑422, Spacewire, I2C, etc.; space‑rated hardware/software.
• Resource management experience, including staffing, budgeting, and scheduling for multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define, own, and control the technical baseline for products, performing technical work and providing leadership.
• Lead the full subsystem life cycle from concept to verification and validation for lunar missions.
• Develop, track, and maintain analyses and simulations and drive technical excellence.
• Own development and continuous improvement of technical processes, tools, and best practices in communications engineering.
• Lead anomaly investigations, root cause analyses, and risk burn‑down for complex development or flight issues.
• Drive completion of sub‑assembly and assembly‑level V&V activities and support lab/test efforts.
• Define, own, and control team schedule and cost baselines; manage priorities.
