Applegreen USA Welcome Centers Central Services is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in daily operations across our travel plazas. The role offers entry-level management exposure with opportunities to develop judgment and discretion in a fast-paced retail environment.

The position emphasizes strong leadership, customer service excellence, and adherence to brand standards, with responsibilities spanning coaching, cash handling, and inventory oversight.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and management skills with a proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with a sharp business acumen.
• Ability to guide store operations and supervise shifts.
• Willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate objectives.
• Supervise non-management staff, assign work, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Step in for the general manager when needed.
• Motivate staff during low morale periods and ensure brand standards.
• Maintain cash management accuracy and daily reporting.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to build long-term relationships.
• Oversee inventory accuracy through spot counts and checks.
