Applegreen USA Welcome Centers Central Services is hiring an Assistant General Manager to help the General Manager ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This entry-level management role offers learning opportunities in supervising staff, setting goals, and upholding brand standards across a busy travel plaza environment.

You will guide shifts, coach non-management teams, and handle customer issues with a focus on performance and accountability.

Qualifications

• Passionate about helping people learn and grow the business.
• Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with a sharp business acumen
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 Lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Supervise day-to-day operations of non-management associates, assign tasks, coach and develop shift supervisors.
• Operate competently in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during low morale periods.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintain awareness of brand standards and protocols to maximize relations with brand/landlord/labor.
• Ensure the restaurant looks clean, inviting and adheres to brand standards.
• Manage cash handling and daily reporting as directed.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to foster long-term relationships.
• Maintain accurate inventory data via spot counts and checks.
