Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, customer-first store and help customers locate and purchase merchandise. You will operate the cash register, stock shelves, and perform duties as a Sales Associate with leadership responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence.

The role requires strong customer service, cash handling, and planogram adherence, plus the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and travel to bank deposits as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise guides.
• Cash handling and register operation proficiency.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; occasional up to 55 pounds.
• Ability to drive to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases; collect payment and give change.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays; receive and unpack shipments.
• Keep the store clean; help with side-walk displays and cleaning tasks.
• Assist in implementing planograms and store setup; open/close store as directed.
• Perform duties of Sales Associate and lead in the Manager’s absence.
