Job summary

The Lead Sales Associate at Dollar General helps maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Responsibilities include assisting customers, operating the cash register, stocking merchandise, and ensuring displays follow planograms to maximize sales and keep assets secure.

In this role you act in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager, perform other duties as assigned, and uphold company standards while delivering friendly, efficient service to every shopper.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Basic math skills including percentages and change calculation.
• Experience operating a cash register and handling cash.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service and greet customers.
• Operate cash register, itemize purchases, collect payment, and bag merchandise.
• Stock, restock, and rotate merchandise and build displays.
• Keep store clean and organized, including restroom and stockroom.
• Open and close the store under direction of management.
• Perform duties of Sales Associate and assist in leadership in absence of manager.
