Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate a cash register, stock merchandise, and support store leadership in daily operations.

In this lead role, you will perform cashier tasks, help set up displays following planograms, open and close the store, and step in for the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager when needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages).
• Ability to operate cash register functions and handle cash securely.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases, collect payment, make change, bag merchandise.
• Follow processes to stock merchandise, rotate shelves, and build displays.
• Clean and maintain the store; manage trash, dusting, mopping, and restroom maintenance.
• Assist in planogram implementation and store layout.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform additional duties in the absence of Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
