Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate a cash register, stock merchandise, and help with opening/closing duties under Store Manager direction.

You may also lead in the absence of management, support planogram implementation, and contribute to profitability while protecting company assets in a fast-paced work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Six months of supervisory experience or related training is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and handle cash accurately.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and dealership controls.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to bank deposits if needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and greet customers.
• Operate cash register, scan items, collect payment, and provide bagging assistance.
• Stock and rotate merchandise, open/close the store as directed, and maintain displays.
• Clean the store and assist in sidewalk displays and housekeeping tasks.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining planograms and product layouts.
• Perform duties of Sales Associate and lead in absence of Store Manager.
