Job summary

AdventHealth East Orlando is seeking a licensed Respiratory Therapist for the night shift. The role involves delivering respiratory care, interpreting tests, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.

The position requires an Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science, current BLS, and state RRT licensure; NBRC RRT is preferred. This PRN/night role offers benefits and opportunities for professional growth within AdventHealth.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• 1+ year of critical care experience preferred.
• BLS CPR certification required.
• State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
• NBRC credential maintained as a condition of eligibility.
• NBRC RRT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely.
• Demonstrates collaboration and teamwork in assisting with patient flow.
• Interprets evaluations and test results to determine appropriate treatment plans in consultation with interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Responds to Code Blue emergencies immediately providing CPR.
• Performs respiratory and oxygen delivery therapies and recommends delivery methods per protocol.
• Obtains, analyzes and reports arterial blood gases and co-oximetry; performs quality controls as needed.
• Performs airway maintenance and initiates, maintains, transports, and monitors mechanical ventilators per policy.
• Utilizes patient assessment skills and team input to determine therapy efficacy and efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.
