Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer for a full-remote role with a preference for candidates in Northern California.

You will lead engineering activities for substation protection and automation projects, develop documentation, and manage design packages while coordinating with project teams and customers. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in protection & control, reads electrical schematics, and is fluent with industry tools like EasyPower, SKM Powertools, ETAP, Aspen, and EMTP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of protection & control experience for utility customers.
• Ability to read and apply electrical one-lines, schematics, and manuals.
• Proficient with EasyPower, SKM Powertools, ETAP, Aspen and EMTP.
• PE License in California required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments.
• Develop engineering documentation and analyses (schematics, layouts, BOMs, reports).
• Manage materials, design packages, and issue resolution with project teams and customers.
• Ensure safety, standards, and customer requirements while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
