Job summary

ABB is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer for a full‑remote position, with preference for candidates in Northern California. You will lead engineering activities for substation protection and control systems, generating schematics, layouts, BOMs, and calculations while coordinating with project teams to ensure cost‑effective and compliant designs.

Required are a BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience, proficiency in Easy Power, SKM, ETAP, Aspen, and EMTP, and a California

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in protection & control projects for utility customers.
• Ability to read and apply electrical one-lines and schematics.
• PE License in California required.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support engineering design activities for substation protection & control systems.
• Develop engineering documentation: schematics, layouts, BOMs, reports, and calculations.
• Manage materials, design packages, and issue resolution with project teams.
• Ensure safety practices and standards, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
