Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Clinical Nurse I to lead a Care Delivery Team, directing patient care with independent assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The CN I serves as a bridge to CN II and uses equipment confidently to meet diverse patient needs.

You will participate in orientation, required CE, and a probationary period, with weekend rotations and on-call as part of full-time roles. Mercy Health emphasizes well-being and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a state-accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure from the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse and current BLS/CPR certification.
• Successful completion of general and unit-specific orientation and hospital probationary period.
• Completes Orientation Checklist.
• Obtains/maintains a minimum of 12 contact hours of continuing education annually which includes Fire Safety & CPR/BLS Recertification.
• Must have theoretical knowledge combined with beginning level clinical experience in providing nursing care for a variety of patients.
• Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing with people of varying backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Direct care for a team of patients, using the CN II as a resource.
• Employ independent assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient needs.
• Demonstrates competencies in operating equipment for patient care.
• Progresses from CN I toward CN II within the Mercy Health clinical ladder.
