Job summary

Henderson Engineers is seeking a Lead Refrigeration Engineer in our G&D sector in Las Vegas. You will design advanced building systems, supervise staff, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams on mission-critical, healthcare, and educational projects.

PE licensure and strong leadership are required. We value client-centric approaches, business development involvement, and staying up-to-date with evolving codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and 9 years of relevant experience or 10 years with high school diploma or equivalent.
• PE license is required and may count toward 1 year of experience.
• Certifications aligned with the field (e.g., BEMP, CPD, CDP, NICET, RCDD) are preferred.
• Completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is preferred.
• LEED/WELL or sustainability certifications are beneficial.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design, codes, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in Revit and Bluebeam Revu is required.
• Strong communication, team leadership, and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts from concept through completion on complex projects.
• Prepare and review design documents, layouts, drawings, and specifications.
• Mentor and supervise junior designers and engineers.
• Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders to meet scope and schedule.
• Evaluate products for suitability and provide engineering recommendations.
• Ensure quality, schedule, cost, and compliance across deliverables.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and support business opportunities.
• Oversee technical and administrative staff and staffing decisions.
• Lead project management activities and coordinate design team tasks.
• Stay current with codes, standards, and industry trends.
