Job summary

Utility Profit in Austin, TX is seeking a Lead Recruiter who owns recruiting as a function and craft, reporting to the COO. You will manage our in-house recruiter and retained search firms, own the plan, and personally source, screen, interview, and close.

You will work with executives across Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Marketing, building pipelines, refining job recs, and ensuring high-quality hires in a fast-growing product-led company.

Qualifications

• Hands-on sourcing, screening, interviewing, and closing priority roles.
• Experience leading recruiters and retained search firms, with coaching abilities.
• Ability to create and execute hiring plans, including contingencies.
• Strong judgment to balance quality and speed, and manage agency relationships.

Responsibilities

• Personally source, screen, interview, and close for priority roles.
• Build and run pipelines to track upcoming openings.
• Write and refine job requisitions with managers, with transparency on expectations.
• Design interview plans and scorecards, train interviewers, and streamline the process.
• Own candidate experience to project speed, clarity, and professionalism.
