Job summary

STV Group’s Transportation South team seeks an experienced Track Engineer (5–10 years) to lead track design for freight rail and transit projects in the Fort Worth region. You will coordinate across disciplines, mentor junior staff, and engage with rail stakeholders throughout planning through construction.

You will use MicroStation, OpenRail, InRail, and AutoCAD to develop tracks, alignments, profiles, and construction documents, while collaborating with clients to resolve design issues and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license preferred but not required for all roles; strong candidates encouraged to apply.
• Proficiency in Bentley design software (OpenRail, InRail, MicroStation) and familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience developing track plans, profiles, cross sections, details, and construction documents from conceptual through final design.

Responsibilities

• Support rail and civil design efforts, including alignments, at-grade crossings, drainage, and special track elements.
• Develop project deliverables using MicroStation/OpenRail and related tools.
• Lead track design for freight, commuter, and transit projects, including alignments, track geometry, crossings, and drainage.
• Produce track plans, profiles, cross sections, details, specifications, quantities, and construction documents from concept to final design.
• Coordinate track design with survey, drainage, roadway, structures, utilities, signals, and systems to resolve conflicts.
• Assist project managers with scope, schedule, budget, and technical decisions; respond to RFIs and field conditions during construction.
