Job summary

Huitt-Zollars, Inc. seeks a Senior Rail Engineer with 10+ years in engineering, including 5+ years in railroad track design, based in Dallas/Fort Worth. The role leads rail design for regional and nationwide projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and applying AREMA and UPRR/BNSF guidelines.

The position requires PE licensure in Texas or ability to obtain, a BSCE, and strong leadership in railway engineering with experience across freight, industrial, commuter, and light rail projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
10+ years engineering experience with at least 5 in track design.
Texas PE registration or ability to obtain within six months.

Responsibilities

Lead and perform engineering design for freight, industrial, commuter, and light rail.
Lead track design including alignments, geometry, turnouts, and crossings.
Prepare calculations, drawings, specs, quantities and cost estimates.
Coordinate track design with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
Provide technical direction and quality control reviews.
