Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking an experienced Track Engineer to shape rail and transit infrastructure in the region. The role focuses on leading track design assignments, coordinating across disciplines, and mentoring junior staff while partnering with an established transportation team.

With 5–10 years of experience, you will engage with clients and rail stakeholders, advancing projects from planning through construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering; PE license preferred.
• Proficiency in Bentley Design Software (OpenRail, InRail, MicroStation) and familiarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
• Strong knowledge of railroad and transit track design principles and industry practices.
• Experience producing track plans, profiles, details and construction documents from concept to final design.
• Experience with design calculations, quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, specs, and technical docs.
• Ability to work independently under a PM or senior lead; railway project experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaborative skills for working with clients and teams.
• Attention to constructability and maintaining service during construction.

Responsibilities

• Support rail and civil design, including alignments, crossings, drainage, and track elements.
• Develop project deliverables using design tools like MicroStation and OpenRail.
• Participate in meetings, track follow-ups, and advance work items.
• Lead track design for freight, commuter, and transit projects including alignments and details.
• Produce track plans, profiles, sections, details, specs, calculations, and docs from concept to final design.
• Coordinate with survey, drainage, roadway, structures, utilities, signals, and other disciplines to resolve conflicts.
• Prepare quantities, cost estimates, reports, and technical memos.
• Support PMs with scope, schedule, budget, and design coordination; assist technical decisions.
• Assist construction phase by responding to RFIs, submittals, and field condition reviews.
