Job summary

ABB is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to lead customer-facing quality issues for Critical Power projects. You will serve as the technical authority, review designs, and coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues.

The role combines engineering leadership with commercial engagement, including travel to client sites. The ideal candidate has a strong background in electrical distribution, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work remotely from the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related) and 7+ years in electrical distribution/power systems.
• Master's degree (preferred) with 5+ years in electrical distribution/power systems.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as ABB's primary customer contact for quality and technical issues, leading communications and timelines.
• Act as design authority for engineering deliverables on moderate to high complexity projects.
• Review designs, perform verifications, peer reviews, and ensure safety/quality documentation.
• Identify technical gaps and communicate needs to product management and commercial teams.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage multiple projects with work plans, cost estimates, RFQs, and delivery of outputs.
