Job summary

Hensel Phelps is seeking a Lead Quality Control Engineer (LQCE) to manage QC processes on projects and mentor junior engineers. The role requires evaluating contracts, plans, and codes, and implementing quality control policies on-site and in the office.

The position emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, and coordination with field teams; it is safety-sensitive and offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities within a salaried structure.

Qualifications

Requires a 4-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture or construction management.
3–5 years of experience on large commercial construction projects.
Proficient with Excel-based templates, Prolog, Primavera and AutoCAD.
Strong communication and the ability to interpret plans, specs and codes.

Responsibilities

Review and update the project quality process log (QPL) and provide comments to the QC manager.
Direct the removal and replacement of non-conforming work and stop work not in compliance with the contract.
Be fully aware of the contract, plans, specifications and applicable codes.
Submit and review RFIs to ensure changes are implemented in the field.
Coordinate daily test and inspection schedules with trade partners.
