Job summary

Vertiv seeks a seasoned Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate large-scale projects, ensuring goals are achieved on time and within profitability targets. You will oversee Field Engineers and Technicians, mentor junior staff, and maintain close alignment with clients and contractors.

The role requires NEC knowledge, strong communication, and the ability to travel up to several months internationally.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and related industry standards (OSHA/NFPA).
• Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Latista, Google Docs and other PM software.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Requires work in service center or field environment with extensive computer/phone use.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with clients, contractors, and management.
• Demonstrates mature judgment; supervises and directs others.
• High degree of communication, supervision, and organizational skills.
• Willing to travel internationally and out-of-town up to several months.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 100 pounds.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposals to determine time frames, funding, staffing, and resources.
• Outlines work plans with managers and assigns duties and authority.
• Plans staffing for each project phase and arranges personnel.
• Directs project personnel to keep progress on schedule and within budget.
• Reviews status reports and adjusts schedules as needed.
• Prepares project reports and gathers material for change orders.
• Provides technical guidance to resolve issues with project personnel.
• Coordinates activities with clients and contractors as required.
• Directs Field Engineers and Technicians during projects.
• Develops large-scale project management processes for company-wide use.
• Mentors junior personnel in project management practices.
