Job summary

Vertiv, based in Atlanta, seeks a senior project manager to plan, direct, and coordinate large-scale electrical projects. You will lead field engineers and technicians, ensure timely delivery, and maintain profitability by controlling resources and schedules.

Responsibilities include developing work plans, reporting progress to management and clients, mentoring staff, and shaping company-wide project management practices. Travel up to 50% may be required.

Qualifications

• PMP certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and standards such as OSHA and NFPA.
• Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Latista, Google Docs, and other PM software.
• Willing to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Requires work in a service center or field environment with extensive computer/phone use.
• Excellent verbal and writing skills to communicate with clients and team.
• Mature judgment and responsibility for supervising others.
• Strong communication, supervisory and organizational skills.
• Willing to travel up to 50% for out-of-town assignments.
• Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs and to sit/stand at a computer as needed.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allotment.
• Confers with Service Center Manager or Region Director to outline work plan and assign duties and scope of authority.
• Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase and assigns personnel.
• Directs project personnel to ensure progress on schedule and within budget.
• Reviews status reports and documents and adjusts schedules as required.
• Prepares and presents project reports for management and clients; gathers back-up material for change orders.
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
• Coordinates project activities with clients and other contractors as required.
• Direct supervisory responsibility for Field Engineers and Technicians during project time frames.
• Develops large-scale project management processes and routines for the Company.
• Mentors junior personnel and teaches project management practices.
