Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Project Manager to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of large-scale projects. You will oversee multiple projects, ensuring goals are met within time frames and profitability, working through Field Engineers and Technicians.

Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, budget control, and client coordination. Travel may be required for extended periods, and you will mentor junior staff while developing company-wide project processes.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and OSHA/NFPA standards.
• Proficient with MS Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Latista, Google Docs and other PM software.
• Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, if required.
• Requires work in a service center or field environment, including extensive computer and telephone use.
• Requires excellent verbal and writing skills to communicate effectively with clients and their representatives, contractors, field engineers, peers and management.
• Requires mature judgment, responsible for assigned projects and supervises, organizes and directs the work of others.
• Requires high degree of communication, supervisory and organization skills.
• Willing to travel for out-of-town and international assignments.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands; vision abilities; ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposals to determine time frame, funding, staffing, and resources.
• Outlines work plan and assigns duties and scope of authority.
• Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase; arranges for assignment of personnel.
• Directs and coordinates activities to ensure schedule and budget adherence.
• Reviews status reports and adjusts schedules as needed.
• Prepares and presents project reports; gathers change-order material.
• Provides technical advice to project personnel and resolves problems.
• Coordinates project activities with clients and other contractors.
• Direct supervisory responsibility for Field Engineers and Technicians.
• Develops large-scale project management processes for company-wide use.
• Mentors junior personnel and teaches project management best practices.
