Job summary

Arcadis seeks an experienced Project Environmental Engineer to join our expanding Department of Energy design team. This role can sit anywhere within the continental U.S.

You will work with scientists, engineers, project managers, and technical experts on environmental assessment, remediation and deactivation and decommissioning projects, leading remedial system design and coordinating field activities across multiple offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and appropriate annual refresher certifications.
• Engineer-In-Training certification or Professional Engineering license.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead remedial system design and assessments—collaborating with project managers and senior staff.
• Develop detailed design drawings (PFDs, P&IDs) and specifications.
• Prepare startup plans and SOPs, while delegating drafting to juniors to ensure efficiency.
• Coordinate field activities, supervise subcontractors, and manage schedules and budgets.
• Travel up to 25% to support construction, startup activities, and client meetings.
