Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Project Environmental Engineer to join our Department of Energy design team. This role can sit anywhere within the continental U.S.

As a Project Environmental Engineer, you will work alongside scientists, engineers, project managers, and technical experts on various activities in support of environmental assessment, remediation and deactivation and decommissioning projects. You will mentor junior staff and travel up to 25% for site activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and annual refreshers preferred.
• Engineer-In-Training certification or Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Experience with AutoCAD or Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead remedial system design and assessments with PMs and senior staff.
• Develop detailed design drawings (process-mechanical, PFDs, P&IDs) and specs.
• Prepare startup plans and standard operating procedures; delegate drafting to juniors.
• Coordinate field activities, oversee subs, and manage schedules and budgets.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory specifications and perform feasibility research on design approaches.
