Job summary

Turner Construction Company in the United States seeks an experienced project specialist to manage, evaluate, and assess information necessary to construct project scope on time, within budget, and to quality as specified by contract documents.

You will lead coordination with architects, subcontractors, and owner reps, oversee submittals, Change Order processes, and closeout records to ensure compliance with contract requirements and project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited and credentialed degree program and 4 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
• Read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
• Utilize leading-edge technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and lean
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate leadership and interpersonal relationship building skills
• Proficient in computer applications and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Manage, evaluate, and assess information necessary to construct project scope on time, within budget, and to quality as specified by contract documents.
• Resolve issues related to plans and specifications to avoid delays, coordinating with base team, architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, inspectors, and owner’s representatives.
• Manage project budget through Change Order Management, gather productivity data and reconcile budget.
• Apply contract and estimate knowledge to drawings and subcontract information for decision making.
• Ensure timely release of materials/equipment and publish delivery dates to suppliers and team.
• Collect invoices and assist with pay applications; gather trade partner time sheets for verification.
• Develop reports for ORM, Profit Plan, CAB; distribute schedule and scope information.
• Manage submittals and shop drawings; coordinate to resolve conflicts in interpretation of documents.
• Negotiate change orders and manage changes in work; obtain approvals and resolve conflicts.
• Oversee closeout process and prepare final records (RFIs, OMs, warranties, as-builts).
• Supervise staff; provide input on performance and approve timesheets.
• Prepare Scope of Work documents for trades; develop General Conditions items and Quality Control reports.
• Schedule and manage meetings for subcontractor coordination, preconstruction, and submittal reviews.
