Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks a Project Engineer to manage information essential for completing projects on time, within budget, and to contract-specified quality. The role includes oversight over assistants and interns, and coordination with architects, subcontractors, consultants and owner representatives.

You will also handle submittals, shop drawings, change orders, and close-out records, while guiding schedules and ensuring compliance with contract documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus at least four years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities; proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specs, scopes of work and project schedule.
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison with Architects, Subcontractors, Consultants, Suppliers, Inspectors and Owner's Representatives; resolve plan/spec issues.
• Oversee and align contract drawings and subcontract information with the estimate.
• Manage the project budget and controls.
• Manage submittals and shop drawings; assess conformity to contract specs; resolve conflicts.
• Negotiate Change Orders and analyze/work changes with subcontractors and owners.
• Oversee close-out processes and prepare final project records (RFIs, warranties, OMs, as-builts).
• Supervise Engineers, Assistants, Clerks and Interns; participate in performance appraisals.
• Prepare Scope of Work documents; develop reports on General Conditions, labor, safety, and QA.
• Schedule and run subcontractor/trade coordination meetings, preconstruction meetings and submittal reviews.
